Camp Grandmama and Grampy Campy – Girls – Zoo Day

If you have kids, or grand-kids, or are around kids or ARE a kid, you have heard of Kidz Bop.

To be clear, Kidz Bop has nothing to do with bopping kids (or even kidz).  For this I am truly grateful as I am not an advocate for bopping kids…or kidz….or animals….or really not an advocate for bopping anything.  I am not a bopper.  What Kidz Bop IS, is a compilation of recent, popular songs sanitized for kids so they can actually sing along without scandalizing Great Aunt Helga.

For Camp, it was such a relief to be able to play Kidz Bop songs and know that I wasn’t advocating lyrics that would result in having my Grandma card revoked.

Why am I mentioning Kidz Bop on Zoo Day?  Follow along.  You’ll understand.

From the time the girls arrived, we bopped along to all the new songs.  The girls belted out Starships, Payphone and Stronger.  We all danced to Moves Like Jagger, Wild Ones and Drive By.

For your entertainment (and with a realization that you have already seen a bazillion zoo pictures) I thought I’d just give you an idea of what was shrilling through my head as we went to the Zoo this year.

The lions were a little …. frisky.  As I explained to the girls, they liked to … hug.  A lot.  I decided it wasn’t necessary to explain the male lion’s lack of interest after they … hugged. A lot.

It’s probably a long-shot, but I’m hoping these little guys aren’t as lonely as they appear.

(insert sigh….I think he’s lonely….)

I realize our “gurls” aren’t from California, but it was a beautiful summer day, the girls couldn’t be cuter, and I am the one who got to pick the song for these pics…..

I’m sure there are more songs, I certainly have more pics, but I’ll stop here. I don’t really think you want to see me and Grampy dancing to Mr. Saxobeat.…right? right?

Can I tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your ‘Camp’ posts? Having been a Camp Nana myself it’s such a delight to see these boys and girls. We have 1 boy and 3 girls so it was all together when they were smaller (now ages 12-17 yup, all from one daughter). They live close to us so Camp Nana was any day. When they started school I was heartbroken but as they grew the ‘Camp’ took us on bigger adventures and into bigger worlds.
Your Treasures will adore reading about this to their own children some day. I’m wondering if you plan to gather them all at once when they’re all a bit older……..now that would be fun!

Oh, I am so glad to hear of another Camp. I love that you were able to have Camp any day. Our grand-kids have to travel a bit. It sounds like you had a great deal of fun. Feel free to give tips!!

Yes, we’ve given some thought to having all nine together, but I think we need the little’uns to grow just a little bit more (not that I’m in any hurry!) The big ones have promised that they will still let me cuddle them when they are older. Not sure what their spouses will think…..

      Thanks again!!
